UTMs (Urchin Tracking Modules) are small pieces of text added to the end of a URL to help track where store traffic is coming from. They are like tags that tell you which marketing efforts are driving visitors and sales to your store, making it easier to measure the performance of campaigns.
utm_source: Identifies where the traffic is coming from (e.g., Google, Facebook, newsletter).
utm_medium: Specifies the type of traffic (e.g., email, social, CPC).
utm_campaign: Tracks the specific campaign name or promotion (e.g., “HolidaySale2024”).
utm_term: Used for tracking keywords in paid search campaigns.
utm_content: Differentiates between similar content or links in the same campaign (e.g., “header-link” vs. “footer-link”).
What it tells you:
Source: Facebook brought the traffic.
Medium: It came from a paid social ad.
Campaign: It’s part of your holiday sale campaign.
Term: People searched for “discount” in your ad targeting.
Content: The ad banner link was clicked.
Open EasySell then go to Analytics and scroll down to UTM Data table:
