Why is the customer redirected to the status page instead of the thank-you page?

We’ve recently noticed that Shopify now redirects customers to the status page instead of the thank-you page when an order is created via the API (like our app). However, if the order is placed through Shopify checkout, the thank-you page is still used.

Shopify is rolling out this change gradually—some stores still see the thank-you page, while many have already switched to the status page.

This behavior is not related to our app, as we’ve seen it vary between stores using the same app. This suggests that the redirection is controlled at the store level by Shopify, not by our app.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this, as the status page is fully generated by Shopify. Our app simply redirects to the link provided by Shopify’s API.
